District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility
For 15 years the District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) has been trailblazing affordable energy pathways for DC residents. What we delivered for them was a flexible identity system that matched the vitality and diversity of the district itself.
The logo mark was built from the shape of DC and rotated eight times to represent the eight wards that make up the district.
Colors, grid layouts, and pattern designs were created by referencing DC's rich music and art history — specifically the Go-Go-Funk scene.
The digital overhaul made access to energy efficiency actually efficient.
